Like I said yesterday, sprites are way faster than backgrounds and now all but two of the object assets are done. I’ve already started programming them in along with a few key sound effects that are necessary for certain transitions. I don’t have anywhere near all the sound effects I want nor any music, and the character sprites and cut scenes are still missing, but Kaiju Crush is looking more and more like a real game.

There is still a ton of work left on the horizon, but each step now is having more and more of a visual pay off, not just a bunch of abstract parts that I know academically are getting me somewhere, but don’t actually show until other work is done. I’m that much more motivated to work. I don’t have a set time table yet for an Alpha to be ready, but one before the end of the year may not be unrealistic.
