SixTAY Days of Writing 2019 Day Thirteen- Video Game Funk

I have to admit, it’s been a really long time now since I’ve sat down and actually played a video game. It seems like I’ve been doing everything else but. It’s not really a lack of time, because my evenings are largely free. Lord knows it’s not a lack of games, as I still have a backlog dating back to the PSOne era as I keep scooping up vintage games when I find them. I just don’t know why, but I haven’t been in the mood to play again.

The last game I played beginning to end was Kingdom Hearts III, for obvious reasons. I had been waiting a decade to play it, so it made it hard to put down. But since then I just haven’t had the focus. I work on my own game, I work on a bunch of art that I’m also not finishing and a bunch of cross stitch kits that aren’t done either. It almost feels like I don’t want to start anything else until something somewhere else gets finished. Which doesn’t work either because I have a bunch of games I’ve started and do want to finish...eventually. Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth, Pokemon Ultra Sun, Let’s Go Eevee, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep ReMix, but instead, all I’ve been playing is solitaire on my mom’s old iPod.

Most likely it’s the weather effecting my health again. And with the latest health obstacle from my recent hospital visit, it’s hard to motivate myself to really do anything. I might just sit down and make myself play a game, to get started so it’s something I finish, but in the meantime, I feel stuck in a video game funk.
